How to use Batch rename + zip
The pattern variables
{n} is the counter, {n3} pads it to three digits (001), {name} is the original file name, {date} the capture date and {ext} the extension. A pattern like trip_{n3} gives trip_001.jpg, trip_002.jpg, and the preview under the options updates as you type.
Put them in order first
Numbering follows the order of the cards, so arrange them before you run the tool: drag with a mouse, press and hold the number badge on a touchscreen, or use the ‹ › buttons. “Start numbering at” lets a second batch continue where the first one stopped.
Dates, duplicates and the zip
{date} uses the EXIF capture date when the photo has one and the file’s modified date otherwise. Leave the checkbox on for camera photos, turn it off when you want the file dates. Names that would collide get _2, _3 added. Everything comes back as a single zip, with the image data untouched.
Questions
Are my photos uploaded to a server?
No. Everything runs inside your browser, so your photos never leave your device. Close the tab and nothing is left behind.
Which variables can I use in the pattern?
{n} number, {n3} three-digit number (001), {name} original file name, {date} capture date (the file’s modified date when there is no EXIF), {ext} extension.
