How to use Crop image

Start from a ratio preset

1:1 for avatars, 4:5 for Instagram posts, 16:9 for covers and video thumbnails, 9:16 for stories and reels, 3:2 and 4:3 for prints and screens. Pick one and the crop box keeps that shape while you drag it, so the platform doesn’t re-crop your image for you.

One crop for a whole batch

With several images loaded, switch between them using the thumbnails under the canvas. “Apply this crop to all images” copies the current box onto every image. That works for a series shot from the same position, less so for photos framed differently.

Getting it exact

Type the width and height in pixels when you need a precise result, and nudge the box with the arrow keys (hold Shift for 10 px steps). Cropping keeps the pixels you kept as they are; a JPG is re-encoded once, at quality 92 by default.

Questions

Are my photos uploaded to a server?

No. Everything runs inside your browser, so your photos never leave your device. Close the tab and nothing is left behind.

Does cropping affect quality?

No. Cropping just cuts out part of the original and keeps those pixels as they are (a JPG is re-encoded once, at quality 92 by default).
